Ascending Order In Length

To arrange the number in such a way that the numbers are in increasing order that is smaller to bigger is known as Ascending Order.

Ascending Order In Length:

To arrange the values of length given in ascending order we will analyse the values and arrange them in increasing order.

For Example:

Arrange the following lengths in ascending order.

39 m, 48 m, 26 m and 15 m.

The numbers 39, 48, 26  and 15 when arranged in ascending order will be

15, 26, 39, 48

Hence on arranging the lengths in ascending order we will get

15 m, 26 m, 39 m, 48 m.

Similarly

For example we have lengths as 100 cm, 10 m, 40 m, and 500 cm.

On comparing the values we find that there are two values which are in cm and 2 value which are in meters.

So we will convert them all in cm and will then arrange in ascending order.

On converting the values we will get

100 cm, 1000 cm, 4000 cm and 500 cm.

On analysing the numbers we find that the smallest number is 100, The number greater than 100 and less than other numbers is 500.. Then number greater than 500 but less than other numbers is 1000 and the last number is 4000.

Arranging the numbers in the increasing order we get 100 < 500 < 1000 < 4000

that is 100 cm < 500 cm < 10 m< 40 m

This arrangement is the ascending order.

Illustration 1: Arrange the following lengths in ascending order

57 cm, 53 cm, 40 cm, 75 cm

A..57 cm, 53 cm, 75 cm, 40 cm

B. 53 cm, 57 cm, 40 cm, 75 cm

C. 40 cm, 53 cm, 57 cm, 75 cm

D. 40 cm, 75 cm, 53 cm, 57 cm
